In Houston, many families and outdoor enthusiasts find joy in off-road adventures with ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides. However, as life changes, these beloved machines may spend more time parked in the garage than on the trails. By donating your vehicle to Lone Star Wheels, you not only free up space but also help support local causes that uplift our community.
Whether your Honda Rancher has taken you on countless hunting trips or your Polaris RZR was the centerpiece of family outings, we welcome your donation. Each vehicle tells a story, and with Lone Star Wheels, your story can help make a difference in someone else's life. From families without transportation to individuals in need of support, your donation can change lives.

How pickup works
Our pickup process for ATVs, UTVs, and side-by-sides is designed to be convenient and efficient. Typically, we use a small flatbed truck or trailer to pick up your vehicle directly from your location. If your vehicle doesn't have a title (which is common for off-road-only vehicles), we’ll require a Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) or a bill-of-sale chain. Our team will coordinate with you to arrange a pickup that fits your schedule, ensuring a seamless experience.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated ATV, UTV, or side-by-side depends on several key factors. For four-stroke ATVs, consider the hours of use over mileage, as more hours can indicate a well-loved vehicle with good maintenance. Popular models like the Polaris RZR and Can-Am UTVs hold strong resale values in the used market. Well-maintained vehicles with service records can secure better value, while any dents or faded plastic may incur a discount. Even non-running units can have positive parts value, depending on their condition.
Documentation you need
- Current title (if applicable)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Bill of sale (if no title is available)
- Service records (to enhance vehicle value)
- Appraisal for classic models (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
Houston specifics
In Texas, the DMV has specific guidelines for off-road vehicles, including ATVs and UTVs. While many of these vehicles do not require state titling, having a bill-of-sale is crucial for proper documentation. Lone Star Wheels is well-versed in local regulations, ensuring that your donation process is straightforward and complies with all necessary legal requirements.
